The international forum in Gdynia opens new perspectives

At the end of the past week (August 20-21) in the Polish city of Gdynia VIII FORUM FRACHT was held. The event is not ordinary and important in several respects:
- firstly, it is one of the first international forums, which, during the COVID-19 pandemic, was held not remotely but in the usual mode of "live meeting",
- secondly, it brought together representatives from the government, local authorities, embassies of some countries, ports, transport and logistics companies, chambers of commerce, it provided an opportunity for open dialogue and substantive discussions on an objective assessment of the new realities of international trade and moving cargo.
It should be noted that the organizers of the forum have provided and worked out all the necessary security measures related to such events in the current situation.
The participants of the forum presented a video film, which presents new approaches to the organization of multifaceted partnership in the establishment a corridor of effective cooperation from the shores of the Baltic to the eastern shores of the Caspian Sea. The project was initiated on the sites of the Baltic-Black Sea Economic Forum.
The historic moment of the VIII FORUM FRACHT was the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Baltic-Black Sea Economic Forum and the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce represented by its President, Minister of Economy of Poland (2001-2003, 2005) Jacek Piechota (pictured left).
Volodymyr Makukha, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Baltic-Black Sea Economic Forum, who took a direct part in signing this agreement, noted:
“The signing of the cooperation agreement between our forum and the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce legally formalized the partnership between our organizations, which in fact has been going on for about a year. This is not an ordinary event. In addition to the multilateral partnerships and cooperation provided for in the agreement, it also provides for specific, joint actions aimed at mutual assistance and support in the implementation of strategic projects initiated and already implemented by each party.
In particular, it determined the importance of combining efforts for the effective implementation of the project of establishment a corridor of effective cooperation from the shores of the Baltic Sea, where the basic foundations are Gdynia, Pomeranian Voivodeship (Poland) and Klaipeda (Lithuania), to the eastern shores of the Caspian Sea where the key partners are Kurik (Kazakhstan) and Turkmenistan with its modern international seaport Turkmenbashi.
Most recently, a historic meeting was held between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Ukraine and the Republic of Lithuania in the city of Lublin, where the deepening of tripartite cooperation, called the "Lublin Triangle", was approved. Based on the analogy and noting that both the event and the place of signing the agreement between the Baltic-Black Sea Economic Forum and the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and the mentioned international project of establishment a corridor of effective cooperation, which international partners already define as geopolitically important, basic triangle Gdynia, Pomeranian Voivodeship (Poland) - Klaipeda (Lithuania) - Kherson, Kherson Oblast (Ukraine) is being formed. We are witness of the creation of a kind of "Gdynia Triangle" as an additional mechanism for implementing the basic, tripartite format of cooperation between Poland, Ukraine and Lithuania, defined by the Foreign Ministers of these fraternal countries, during their meeting in Lublin", - Volodymyr Makukha said.
