LITHUANIA-UKRAINE VIDEO BRIDGE: PRACTICAL ACTIONS TO DEVELOP COOPERATION
Today, the Baltic-Black Sea Economic Forum (Baltic-Black Sea-Caspian Forum) and the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists held a Lithuania-Ukraine video bridge, marking the first practical steps in implementing their partnership (the partnership agreement was signed on April 16, 2026).
The event was moderated by Volodymyr Makukha, Chairman of the Baltic-Black Sea Economic Forum (Baltic-Black Sea-Caspian Forum).
Before the video bridge began, Bishop Mykhailo Komansky, Exarch of the Ecumenical Patriarch in Ukraine (Ambassador of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Ukraine), addressed the participants with congratulatory remarks and wishes for successful collaboration.
The videoconference itself opened with the signing of four memoranda:
- Between the Lithuanian holding Global BOD group, a leader in solar energy in the Baltics and the EU, a manufacturer of modern equipment, and the developer of many advanced technologies, and the reputable Ukrainian holding GKS UA. This memorandum provides for cooperation in the development of renewable energy in Ukraine and the development of possible, economically feasible models for the joint production of solar panels and batteries in Ukraine (after the war ends and appropriate security conditions are ensured).
- Between the Lithuanian company SoliTek (part of the Global BOD group, engaged in the production of modern solar panels and the construction of solar power plants) and the Kherson-based company Solar Family (Ukraine), which has many years of experience in solar power plant construction but was forced to relocate to Kyiv. This memorandum confirms the companies' intentions to jointly implement solar power plant construction projects in Ukraine. Furthermore, the conclusion of this document should contribute to the economic sustainability of the Ukrainian company, which, in turn, announced its intention to return to Kherson after the end of the war.
- Two more memorandums were signed by the leading Lithuanian company "Jūrės Medis" with the Kherson District State (Military) Administration and the Bilozerka United Territorial Community. The Lithuanian company, a leader in the construction of modern timber houses and structures of any complexity, and a long-standing tradition in this construction segment dating back to 1909, intends to actively participate in Ukrainian reconstruction projects, specifically the construction of modern homes for internally displaced persons and residents of Kherson district communities who have lost their homes. Furthermore, it plans to utilize its existing experience in constructing roofs for buildings and structures using special solar panels.
