ENSURING UKRAINE'S ENERGY SECURITY. WORKING MEETING WITH THE LITHUANIAN MINISTER OF ENERGY.

At the initiative of the Lithuanian side, a working meeting was held between Volodymyr Makukha, Chairman of the Board of the Baltic-Black Sea Economic Forum (Baltic-Black Sea-Caspian Forum), Vidmantas Janulevicius, President of the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists, and Žygimantas Vaičiūnas, Minister of Energy of the Republic of Lithuania.

Lithuania remains one of Ukraine's most active partners in the area of energy security.

The Minister noted that he is aware of Ukraine's existing energy-related problems and maintains contact with Dmytro Shmyhal, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy of Ukraine.

Lithuania supplies Ukraine with power generation equipment and supports the most affected regions experiencing critical power supply issues. This year, Lithuania has already donated a large quantity of solar panels to Ukraine, as well as various energy equipment and machinery for the restoration of its energy infrastructure.

In February 2026, Lithuanian companies, under the coordination of the Lithuanian Ministry of Energy, delivered another batch of critical equipment to Ukraine, including generators, transformers, and boiler equipment.

Separately, the Lithuanian Minister of Energy highlighted Lithuania's experience in ensuring energy independence in gas supplies (the LNG terminal in Klaipėda for receiving liquefied natural gas by sea).

Furthermore, a Lithuanian project to install solar power plants for Ukrainian institutions is ongoing. Some of the facilities have already been commissioned, and the rest will be completed soon. However, focusing on the event that took place the day before, during the Lithuania-Ukraine videoconference organized by the Baltic-Black Sea Economic Forum (Baltic-Black Sea-Caspian Forum) and the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists, the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Lithuania emphasized the importance of cooperation between Lithuanian and Ukrainian enterprises.

Therefore, in his opinion, the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the powerful Lithuanian holding Global BOD group and the reputable Ukrainian holding OKS UA establishes additional mechanisms aimed not only at strengthening Ukraine's energy security but also at ensuring greater economic stability for energy market participants in both Ukraine and Lithuania.

It should be noted that the Lithuanian holding Global BOD group is a leader in solar energy equipment production in the Baltics and Eastern Europe and is among the industry leaders on a pan-European scale. Some technologies and individual product segments can be considered unique.
